Financing for sustainability

Target Audience: Business owners and managers who intend to make investments with community funding, primarily investments in the area of ​​sustainability.

Context

The partnership agreement between Portugal and the European Union until 2027, known as Portugal 2030, coupled with the Recovery and Resilience Plan, aims to leverage and differentiate a range of financing opportunities for Portuguese companies, as well as other actors in the economic system. There are many and varied incentive schemes that fall under the aforementioned Plans and support companies in the areas of production, capacity building and digitalization, sustainability and circular economy, decarbonization, internationalization, among other areas of investment necessary for organizations. This capacity-building action aims to equip participants with knowledge about the framework, eligibility of the entity and the project, and characteristics of investments eligible for financing.

Topics:

  • Framework of PT2030 and PRR.

  • Which investments can be co-financed?

  • The principle of "Do not significantly harm".

  • Understand the framework and differences between PT2030 and PRR, and the opportunities for companies.

Investment Incentive Systems and Their Characteristics

Topics:

  • Incentive system for productive innovation.

  • Support for modernization, training, and digitalization.

  • Support for investments aimed at sustainability and the circular economy.

  • Internationalization of companies.

  • Support for decarbonization.

  • Plan of calls for proposals foreseen for 2025.

  • Important factors in preparing an application.

Output:

  • Understanding the different purposes of the main incentive schemes.

  • Identifying the procedures for evaluating whether an investment qualifies for a support scheme.

With this training, participants will:

  • Understand the framework of various incentive systems.

  • Identify community funding programs as a way to leverage a sustainability strategy.

  • Understand the steps for preparing an incentive system application.
