Carbon Footprint Level 1 (starter)
Fundamentals of Carbon Footprint and Neutrality

Target Audience: Professionals in the areas of sustainability and environment; investment funds; landowners; farmers; companies that want to offset their CO2 emissions; and anyone interested in the topic.

Context

The pressure to transition to a low-carbon economy is increasing, and companies are increasingly called upon to present clear carbon neutrality strategies. This process requires a solid understanding of their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in areas 1, 2, and 3, as well as the identification of concrete opportunities to reduce their carbon footprint. Beyond direct emissions reduction, it becomes essential to assess the viability of investments through cost/benefit analyses that include the social cost of carbon, explore voluntary and mandatory carbon markets, and consider effective carbon sequestration solutions. This training integrates a two-level program designed to provide a solid foundation in the fundamental concepts and key methodologies associated with carbon footprint and carbon neutrality. This level offers an introduction to Greenhouse Gases (GHG), the scopes needed to calculate emissions, and initial approaches to reducing the carbon footprint. Upon completion of this level, participants may choose to continue to Level II, where they will explore advanced strategies and practices for implementing carbon neutrality, according to their interests and needs.
