Sofia Santos attends the 16th National Waste Management Conference

On April 16, 2026, Sofia Santos, CEO of Systemic Sphere, took part in the 16th National Waste Management Conference | In Action: Scenarios, organized by APEMETA in partnership with ESGRA.

The event aimed to promote a broad technical debate on the sector’s key challenges and the most innovative solutions, bringing together experts and professionals to address the most current and relevant topics in waste management in Portugal.

The conference gathered experts, policymakers, companies, and industry professionals to analyse trends, share knowledge and experiences, and foster cooperation across the entire waste management value chain, contributing to the definition of pathways and solutions for the sector’s future challenges.

Sofia Santos participated as moderator in the panel “Financing Perspectives for the Sector”, which featured Nuno Gonçalves, Vice-President of the Board of Directors at IAPMEI; André Braga, Sustainability Coordinator at Crédito Agrícola; and Natália Alencar, Head of the Sustainability Unit at Banco Português de Fomento.

The event also included the presence of the Secretary of State for the Environment, João Manuel Esteves.
